New apprentice Ricky Astle

New apprentice helpdesk support agent Ricky Astle


It’s National Apprenticeship Week, so it’s a great time to introduce you to our newest team member, Ricky. Ricky joined us last week as an apprentice helpdesk support agent. While working with us, he’ll also be studying for a level 3 qualification in Information Communications Technology. At 30, Ricky is a mature apprentice, but has taken the opportunity to retrain in a new field, after a career in retail and hospitality in which he developed great customer service skills.

Ricky says ‘I’ve been made really welcome by the team at IIZUKA and I’m getting stuck into learning all about Case Manager so that I can support customers. I’m so pleased to be able to launch a career in an area I’m passionate about. I’m a keen online gamer and I love to fix and build computers in my spare time, so having the opportunity to work in software development is the best of both worlds!’

Managing Director Greg Hayes said ‘Even though we’re a fairly small business, we’ve always invested in apprentices and in training and development for all the IIZUKA team. We’ve seen previous apprentices successfully develop their careers within the business, so we’re delighted to welcome Ricky and to support him in his new career.’
