The Northumburia Police integrated with the 101 service

At the start of the 101 project it was identified that Northumbria Police had to have full integration between the 101 call taking event tracking system and their existing command and control system. So immediately after delivery of the standard system work began to achieve full integration.

IIZUKA worked closely with the Home Office and the 101 Data Standards Working Group to arrive at an approved set of XML and messaging standards for integration between 101 systems and back office systems. IIZUKA's experience in XML technologies and position as the leading implementer of dedicated 101 solutions meant that it was able to take the lead in defining the new schemas and was happy to contribute all work done back to the working group.

By November 2006 the inital test of the implemented schemas began and by December the police integration was live. Since then Northumbria 101 have seen an overall reduction in the time taken for the police to acknowledge receipt of service requests and to despatch them to officers.

Another significant element of the 101 programme has gone to plan.
