Peter Wands

Peter is a qualified Chartered Accountant who decided to work in industry. He joined the Dawson International Group, working initially on the restructuring of their leading knitwear company, Pringle of Scotland, which had become unprofitable. Following the restructuring he was leading financial manager in the team that evaluated the product development and product technologies required to revitalise the company. In 1977 he became Export Manager for the company, responsible for the world-wide network of distributors and agents, and an export turnover of £30 million and was appointed Financial Director in 1980. In 1984 a specialised Textile Dyeing company was bought and Peter was appointed Managing Director to this company.
Since 1987 Peter has worked as a consultant for small companies in a variety of fields - mainly engineering, textiles and retailing and acts as accountant for around one hundred clients. He has lectured for the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has been involved in many small business start-ups.
Peter was appointed part time Financial Director in 2003 having initially been the company’s accountant so he has been the steward of the IIZUKA finances since foundation.
