KOZO Technology in 2007
Component Based Software
The notion of component based software is not new and many organisations attempt to convert existing applications into pluggable components.
IIZUKA has taken the concept to a new level with a systematic programme of component development that started in 2002, initially with middleware requirements such as security and document management building up to user interface developments in case management and service delivery.
KOZO Technology relies heavily on Java and XML tools. Open Source is used where appropriate and IIZUKA works with the Apache Software Foundation in several programming projects.
Customer Benefits
Customers in the public and private sectors benefit from the generic advantages of the IIZUKA Method:
-
Agility = lean, fast track development
-
Common standards = low technical risk
-
Robust architecture = reliability
-
Pre tested components = low maintenance overheads
KOZO Solutions
KOZO Technology has had the most impact on our solution work. Typically IIZUKA pre-tested components make up 80% of an end solution. The components are integrated in different combinations to meet the client's needs. Bespoke extensions and adaptations are then applied to ensure the solution is an exact match for the client's requirements.
The 101 programme demonstrated the power of the methodology when a prototype was delivered within 4 days and an entire application with 30 days.
KOZO Products
The advantages of KOZO Technology in product delivery is the ease that a product can be enhanced through change requests into a customised solution. For example many WROSeS deliveries start with the basic product and then modified to the customer's particular requirements.
Robust Enterprise Scale Applications
An aspect of KOZO Technology is its ability to operate within an enterprise scale environment, efficiently handling thousands of data entries as described in the case study entitled Warm Results.
